Kentaro earned his B.Sc. from Kwansei Gakuin University in 2009 and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tokyo in 2015 under the supervision of Professor Kazuo Takatsuka. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Fukui Institute for Fundamental Chemistry, Kyoto University. He established fundamental chemical mechanisms relevant to biochemical reactions such as photosynthesis and respiration. His research results provide insight into the coupled motions of electrons and protons in the fs = 10–15 s time scale.
